Dr. Nirmala Balan

Dr. Balan is board certified in Anesthesiology. After completing her medical degree at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, Dr. Balan completed her residency at New York University Medical Center. Following her residency, Dr. Balan moved to Washington, D.C. where she pursued a fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesia at the Childrens' Hospital National Medical Center.

Upon completion of her fellowship, Dr. Balan returned to New York where she practiced at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Along with her clinical duties, Dr. Balan also served as an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at the campus. During Dr. Balan's tenure at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, she was appointed the Director of the Residency Program in Anesthesiology.

After several years in New York, Dr. Balan moved west to Loma Linda University Medical Center in California where she continued to both practice and teach as an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology.

In 1994, Dr. Balan moved to the Anesthesiology Department at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center where she currently practices.
