Dr. Goh is originally from Honolulu, Hawaii. After high school he moved to Boston where he attended Harvard University as an undergraduate, majoring in history, and received his bachelor’s degree magna cum laude in 1996. Along with his honors, Dr. Goh also earned several distinctions throughout his undergraduate career including the Harvard College Scholarship and the John Harvard Scholarship, both awarded for academic excellence. He went on to complete his medical education at New York University and was awarded his M.D. in 2000.
Residency followed at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. Dr. Goh originally chose internal medicine as his specialty and completed residency in 2003, garnering a Solomon Scholars Research Award along the way for outstanding original research performed during residency. He then went into practice as a hospitalist physician at Torrance Memorial Medical Center. He subsequently decided to pursue anesthesiology instead and went back for additional residency training, again at UCLA. He completed anesthesiology residency in 2007, and then went into practice at St Johns Health Center in Santa Monica. In 2008 he joined the staff of Olive View-UCLA Medical Center.
Dr. Goh became board certified in internal medicine in 2003 and board certified in anesthesiology in 2008. He is interested in all aspects of anesthesiology, particularly in preoperative evaluation and management of patients, anesthesiology’s applications to critical care, as well as medical student and resident education. Outside the OR, he enjoys reading American history, snowboarding, and playing ice hockey.
